Fikile Moeti, aka ‘FIX’ is a well-known South African Radio Host, DJ, MC, Voice Over Artist and TV Personality. Fix, made MTV history when she became the first female VJ on ‘MTV Base’ (MTV Networks Africa).
Since then the multi-talented entertainer also joined 5FM Radio DJs in 2008, hosting on late night Hip Hop, Pop and Electronic House Shows. Working her way up to day time radio, Fix currently hosts on the Forbes & Fix Show between 12h00 and 15h00 playing all trending commercial hits and leaving a smile on her listeners faces.
Fix bought her first vinyl at the age of 15 and fell in love with the DJ world, immediately signing up with ‘Soul Candi’s’ DJ school. Having lived in the UK at an early age, and later living in the US in her early 20’s, Fix’s DJ sets range from Club/Dance Classics to Funky and Deep House.
Having started her career in the entertainment and media industry at the age of 19, Fix has always believed that business, the arts, and social development are not mutually exclusive. In order to play her part in making this belief a reality, after 6 years working in the entertainment industry Fix decided to go back to school – studying at both Columbia College Chicago and New York University (studying Small Business / Entrepreneurship).
In October 2016, Fix was invited to host her first TedX Talk in Johannesburg. In a humorously delivered talk, Fix reveals the secret of her adoption and how it brought about fears and insecurities. She mentioned how she constantly feared not being smart enough throughout primary school and how she always faced anxiety for not being as ‘book smart’ as her older sister and high-flying grandmothers, who were great achievers in their respective fields. She went on to speak about how she found her “other smart” through swimming and waterpolo.
